Do you know where your main electrical shutoff is? Many people do not, and this can be bad in an emergency.

If something were ever to go wrong with your electrical system in your home, this may be your first (and possibly only) option. Normally this main switch is the largest in the panel and is all the way at the top.

If you have hardwood floors, then you have likely noticed that they "move" with the seasons. Hardwood floors hardly stay one size and in one spot.

Hardwood floors tend to swell in the summer time, making uneven spots. In the winter, they tend to shrink a bit and cause gaps in the floors.

If this is occurring in your home, it is likely very normal and very rarely anything to worry about.
